I have actually seen an example of this labeling already! Of course, I’m away from my refrigerator at the moment, but a carton of heavy cream I bought last week has phrasing that goes something like: “Best used within 7 days of opening, but still good until the printed date.” Definitely relieved my anxiety about using it all in 7 days.
